Park grants and awards
Within the past few months, the Park has received three grants that will assist in the Childrens' Barn restoration, and will further develop our partnership and commitment to the Danvers public schools system in providing environmental education for teachers and students. In addition, the park was awarded a family favoite designation by the Boston Parents's Paper. The details follow;

- D.E.E.P. Grant of $500 in April, 1998: In partnership with 4th grade teachers Dale Nagle from Thorpe and Eric Wormstead of Riverside schools we developed a grant to purchase equipment, to be housed at the park, for outdoor science studies.

- STAR Grant of $11,262 in December 1998: In partnership with Lisa Dana, Director of Analytic Studies Department, Danvers public schools, we co-wrote a grant entitled "Life at Endicott Park" for a K-12 project in which all teachers and students will have the opportunity to access inquiry tools and exemplary inquiry activities at Endicott Park. Equipment, tools and instruments to be housed at the park. Award letter and grant summary attached.

- Essex National Heritage Area Grant of $2,900 in October 1998: In partnership with Joan Townley, Executive Director and Mimi Cooper, Director of the Friends of Endicott Park, this grant was submitted to help raise funds towards the restoration of the Childrens' Barn at the park.
